Returning to our mats...


It was so good to be teaching again this morning, albeit on Zoom, trying to communicate via a camera and all those little squares. But after a couple of months away I was very grateful to be doing it and even more grateful to my participants for showing up.


I had been searching for the right words to describe the 'thing' that happens each time you come back to your mat or your practice, that was my theme for today, when this Iyengar quote popped up online and said it perfectly...


Our bodies and physical state are shaped by the past - injury, illness, lifestyle decisions etc and our minds are always leaping ahead to the future - what we need to be doing, where we should be, what will happen if...but when we take time to practice we bring mind and body together, work on ourselves as we are and are totally present in the moment. There is always benefit in that...
